Tours and Activities
The school offers a wide range of local tours and tours in our province of Guanacaste.
What tours are available?
We offer tours to Palo Verde, which is a boat trip along the Rio Tempisque, Rincon de La Vieja National Park, spelunking at Barra Honda National Park, hiking through Santa Rosa National Park and visiting the site of Costa Rica’s national hero Juan Santamaria, where a famous battle was fought, kayaking and snorkeling to Isla Chora, surf lessons, a dolphin watching trip, a zip-lining tour through the forest canopy with views of the Pacific ocean, and a visit to Guaitil pottery village to see how pottery is made handed down from the ancient times. Students can practice making pottery.

What activities does the school offer during free afternoons and evenings and how can I spend my free time?
Our National Sports Complex
We have a National Sports Complex located in Nicoya. It has an Olympic swimming pool, jogging track, tennis court, basketball court, soccer field and more for your enjoyment.

Our Local Gym
We also have a private full service gym offering a variety of machines and exercising activities. Enjoy a good workout with the help of your personal trainer. Personal trainer fees are additional.

Soccer Night
You can also attend a local soccer match at Nicoya’s main stadium. Enjoy the cheers and excitement when you attend a Nicoya "fútbol" match. Teams from throughout the country participate in the competition, and Nicoya historically is rated one of the best. Passionate fans make futbol the number one sport in Costa Rica.

Concert in the Park
On Sundays, during certain months of the year, the Nicoya orchestra performs in the park in the early evening. Not to be missed. Hear the sounds of a bi-gone era of American big bands, and of course hear the beats of the Latin music.

Throughout the year there are several cultural festivals, such as Festival de la Tortilla, Fiestas Patronales (Patron Saint Festivities). Daily festivals during the multi-day holiday of the Annexation of Nicoya during the month of July with parades, rodeos, fireworks, daily concerts, art exhibition and street food stands in the park.
